Bridging the Gap

ZaniPlayer bridges the gap between simple video playback devices and digital signage to full-media servers. The purpose of the ZaniPlayer is to retain the size, reliability, and price point of these aforementioned devices but offer all features, functions, and common uses of highly-technical media servers. All ZaniPlayers are 100% solid state, have external AC/DC power supplies, allow for custom resolutions for displayport outputs, and meet local and national certifications. Their compact design allows them to be remotely located, near or on your display device, powered by DC power, and have a large ambient temperature range -10 to +45 ℃.

Timeline Playback and Media Editing

The ZaniPlayer is now available as a single or dual output on all models. Powered by AV Stumpfl Wings Platinum, a highly-versatile video presentation system with over 25 years of proven technology. ZaniPlayer programming is done directly on the unit, and once finished, set to an autostart presentation mode, so that the editor is no longer seen. There is no need to do edits with a master controller and exporting. Further editing can be done directly on the player or can be accessed remotely with the built-in Teamviewer® remote service app. Wings Platinum also offers the ability to make media edits directly in the timeline without the need to use an external editor and re-importing media. Edits such as cuts to audio and video, resizing, fades, time stretching, and real-time effects such as color changes/enhancements, luma and chroma keying, wipes, etc.

Video Layers and Transitions

The ability to crossfade videos in realtime is the biggest difference that sets the ZaniPlayer over that of digital signage. Need an attraction loop to transition to a presentation video with a seamless transition or a playlist of videos that trigger with an aesthetic segue? ZaniPlayer does that. Programming setup can be made for multiple video layers and it even supports alpha channels and transparencies. Video jumps can be programmed to jump from a single frame to another for seamless transitions.

Synchronized Show Control

Show-controlled elements can be placed directly in the timeline of the ZaniPlayer for accurate synchronized playback. UDP/TCP triggers can send at exact frame placements. DMX and relay outputs can be incorporated, allowing your doors to open/close as needed, lighting controlled, animatronic character actions, 4D functions, all in frame accurate synchronization with video playback. Optional 8 channels of audio can be added economically for a true surround experience. A built-in scheduler enables playback videos or special functions to the minute, so that complete automation is achieved. Finally, contact closure inputs assignment for an operator-less functionality with push-button control. DMX, Relay, and multi-channel audio are additional hardware components.

Full Image Support

Real-time image fades, logos, and stills are fully supported by the ZaniPlayer. Images are no longer treated as just a photo sequence but can be implemented in the timeline programming as layers with alpha support. Image sources can be updated remotely and changed by simply reloading the presentation, a great way to show dynamic sponsorship or events. A realtime text engine allows for text to be applied to videos or images in an additional layer. A ticker engine makes for updating text for feeds or captioning. Further still frame bailouts can be implemented and even a fail safe ZaniPlayer BG customization.

Interactivity

Adding the optional Avio extended show control options allow for full interactivity from the ZaniPlayer. Support for such devices like a Microsoft Kinect®, Myo Armband™, Leap Motion, touch pads, gyro input devices, to name a few. Interactive elements are then simply routed to media pieces, locations, opacities, or other show-control components. Avio offers a full calendar scheduler that can be assimilated with exchange and other calendars. Touchscreen interfaces can also be implemented directly served from ZaniPlayer to playback from the output or a wireless tablet or device. Touch designer software is included with the Avio add-on for a complete solution package.

ZaniPlayer VIOSO®

Each ZaniPlayer is available as a VIOSO version with warping or optional blending capabilities. ZaniPlayer VIOSO allows for a single output to be real-time warped to match the projection surface geometry or to enable keystoning above what most projectors do. Warping capabilities can map to simpler 3D objects, extrusions, or shapes. ZaniPlayer VIOSO can blend two projector outputs with autocalibration using the included camera, then warp to curved screens or surfaces. ZaniPlayer VIOSO also has a playlist playback functionality and the Avio show control module can be added for calendar scheduling, touch interfaces, and interactivity.

Reliability and Stability

Powered by Wings Platinum with over 25 years of proven technology, the stability of the software playback system is demonstrated worldwide. The ZaniPlayer is further built on an embedded-type architecture of Windows 7 that is lean without the interference of background applications hindering the reliability of the OS. ZaniPlayer is configured to run 24/7 in presentation mode with less than a .1% fail rate. Even upon power failure, the ZaniPlayer contiguously boots directly to the video presentation immediately upon power restore. In the unlikely event of a crash, the built-in monitor will automatically restore the presentation immediately again.
